Organised by The Crafts Council of India, the 32nd ‘Textile Show’ presents a wealth of the country’s unique saris rooted in the fabled weaves of the past, yet  carrying wonderful designer inputs and imprints which makes  every sari on display a one-of-its-kind statement. Each sari, whether classical, antique, contemporary or even edgy, tells a special handwoven story, whether in the woven magical textile weaves of Benarasi, Maheshwari, Chanderi, Telia Rumaal, Uppada, Eri Silk, Bengal cotton or ikat. Top designers, embellishers and artisans have worked and innovated with weaves, motifs, blocks, embroidery, tie and dye and more to create their own textile narratives featuring saris, yardage, dupattas, stoles etc.

Look out for the pristine beauty of Kerala saris created by Usha Devi Balakrishnan and  Sruti Nair of ‘Anka’. Riddhi Jain’s Bandhej, Ikramuddin Sabir Neelgar’s fantastic natural dyed ‘leheriyas, Chaman Premji Vankar’s mesmerising Kutchi handloom saris, stoles and dupattas, Jyoti Reddy’s ‘Ereena’ Telia Rumaals, Eri silks and ikats, the wondrous Benares’s of  ‘Rastogi Benarasi Silk House’, Avni Bhuva’s Khari and hand block prints, Vivek Narang’s designer textiles and much much more.

Delving into the treasure chest of the ‘Textile Show’ is sure to provide a rare (never before seen in Chennai) textile experience to the cognoscenti of Chennai.
